Artist Bio

Laura Wall is a vibrant and contemporary artist based in Devon.  Originally from Kent, she moved to Devon in 2001 where the burgeoning art community of the area truly inspired her. However it was portraiture that really captured her imagination and by the age of eighteen it wasn’t long before she was exhibiting in galleries.

Laura has always been compelled to paint portraits, drawn to the story of the person to whom she is painting. ‘From eyes alone one should be able to see the story and soul of the person.’ Says Laura.

Laura has since received a scholarship for Aberystwyth University of Wales and achieved a first degree BA Honours in Fine Art and Illustration. Following from this course Laura created her first character ‘Goose’ which has now turned into a series of cards and prints and expanded to other whimsical characters found in her series ‘Love at the Seaside’. Her work is becoming highly collectable and popular throughout the southwest.

Tavistock Framing Gallery is exhibiting work from Laura’s original portrait series. This has provided a rare and exciting opportunity to collect work from this early and highly sought after series.

Laura frequently works around the county at craft fairs where she works with her partner selling their artwork and photography. http://www.photoboxgallery.com/davebuttphotography

  1. Well, when you break it down like that it looks totally manageable. Thanks Alyson.
